Start with the library barcode
Library cards usually have a barcode or a card number tied to your account. That barcode can be stored in Apple Wallet even if the library does not offer a Wallet pass.
How Apple Wallet fits in
Apple Wallet is designed for quick access to scannable passes. A library pass works the same way at self-checkout kiosks and desk scanners.
Official Wallet programs require an Apple Developer account and Apple-issued pass keys (certificates). Most libraries do not invest in that setup, even though they already have barcodes.
Create the pass with WalletWallet
WalletWallet turns your library barcode into a .pkpass file that Apple Wallet can store.
- Scan the library card barcode or upload a clear photo.
- Set the title to your library name.
- Add an optional label, like your card number.
- Download the .pkpass file and open it in Apple Wallet.
Use it for checkout
With the pass in Wallet, you can scan at a kiosk or the front desk without carrying the physical card. It is also handy for quick account lookups.
Scan tips
If your library uses a long numeric barcode, select Code 128 in WalletWallet. For QR codes, choose QR for the clearest scan.
Quick recap
Even without official support, you can keep your library card in Apple Wallet. WalletWallet makes the pass from the barcode in minutes.
